Dragon Age: Origins has announced that they will be releasing their first expansion pack. However, it will not be available until March 16th.

Introduced will be an entirely new area known as Amaranthine. In this place, there will be new enemies, new customization options for the characters, a bunch of various spells and abilities, a higher level cap, and five different new party members.

“Dragon Age: Origins – Awakening shows BioWare’s commitment to our fans by delivering new story-driven experiences which enrich the dark heroic fantasy universe our fans have come to know and love,” said BioWare co-founder, Dr. Ray Muzyka in a statement. “The vibrant worldwide community of Dragon Age fans will relish uncovering the secret motivations of the darkspawn, revealing how the darkspawn continue to infest the world despite the defeat of the Archdemon.”

As you can see, there is a lot of content that is being crammed into this expansion pack. Well, for $39.99 you better hope that there is a lot of content included in it. The price for this pack is just $20 less then the price of the entire retail game. Also, this pack is going to be released in one of the most crazy times of game releases. Many of the huge Dragon Age fans will pick this pack up with out thinking twice about it but I am sure that the price tag is going to hold back many of the possible buyers for a while.

Free Fallout 3 Theme with Purchase of DLC is a post from: Free Microsoft Points

For all of you crazy Xbox 360 owners, there is about to be a fabulous new deal. If you are one of those gamers that have wasted hour upon hour on Fallout 3, you are obviously a fan of Bethesda Softworks. You will receive a reward if you are one of those people to have puchased all five pieces of downloadable content that is available to you. Your reward for doing this is you will receive your very own Fallout 3 theme.

The theme will be available for no cost at all to anyone who has bought all five pieces of DLC for the game as of September 22nd. This theme will be available to you for download starting on October 1st. If you have not yet bought all the downloadable content, or do not plan on doing so, then the theme will be available to you for 240 Microsoft points.

Todd Howard, a member of Bethesda, said in a statement, “This is something we’ve been asked about a lot and we’re happy to finally be able to bring it to fans as a small token of our appreciation.”

To all you Peggle fans, there is going to be downloadable content from Peggle Nights added to the Xbox Live Arcade this fall. Many of you have been fans of this game ever since you played the online game on PopCap. Peggle Nights, a game that is only available on PC and Mac right now, has many features set to be released as the Xbox Live Arcade version.

A quote released from the press says, “The addictive and fun gameplay of the Peggle franchise translates extremely well when tuned for the XBLA platform,” noted Sukhbir Sidhu, co-creator of Peggle and studio chief at PopCap. “Since launching earlier this year, Peggle for XBLA earned top awards from industry critics while taking full advantage of the XBLA multiplayer format to deliver an incredible gameplay experience. Peggle Nights essentially doubles the size of the Peggle XBLA universe for players everywhere.”

At the current time the pricing or actual release date has not been released, besides knowing it will be this fall. This is a great buy for any of you Peggle fans.

Castle Crasher’s DLC is a post from: Free Microsoft Points

Soon you will be able to get downloadable content for a great game. This game is Castle Crashers. The developer of this game, The Behemoth, announced today that a Necromantic Pack will be released for purchase. The downloadable content for this game, Castle Crashers, will be available to you tomorrow, Wednesday, August 26th. It will cost 160 Microsoft Points. This Necromantic Pack will include four features.

There is going to be two new characters in the Necromantic Pack. These characters are named The Necromancer and The Cult Minion. Both of these characters are creative and intriguing. Another feature that comes with this pack is a new Animal  Orb Dragonhead. Also, two new weapons will be released along with the Necromantic Pack. These weapons are the NG Skull Mace and a Chainsaw. One final feature that will be presented with this pack is that there should be picture packs.

One surprise could have been hinted at. The Behemoth, the developer of the game, said something that makes me believe there is more in store for the future. They mentioned that the downloadable content release is “Just in time for Castle Crasher’s birthday (which is the 27th), and I don’t know about you, but birthday’s make me think of presents.” With the developer saying this, it makes me strongly believe that there is going to be an extra surprise or present coming our way along with the DLC release. For this week’s Xbox Live Deal of the Week it is definitely a very good deal. In fact, this may be one of the very best deals of the week in history. This deal is for “The Lost and Damned” Grand Theft Auto IV. Microsoft is offering the amazing deal that for the low price of 2,100 Microsoft points (which is fifteen dollars) you can get an expansion pack for the game “The Lost and Damned” Grand Theft Auto IV. This offer is available to you starting today, Monday, August 24th, and will be available to you for one week.

If you have been one of the few people that has not yet been able to experience this game since it was released in February, then you can now get “The Lost and Damned” Grand Theft Auto IV at this low price.

What I don’t think these deal makers have realized is that any fans of Grand Theft Auto IV fans have most likely already purchased this game for the full price and already played this game for many hours. There is not going to be very many people who need to invest in this fabulous deal.

Chair Entertainment’s Shadow Complex has recently been released on the Xbox Live Arcade. This rather simple side scroller has been attracting some attention from gamers of all ages, but there is only one problem. The game only provides about 10 hours of gameplay before you either have to start over and beat the game over again, or find a different game. Some additions to the game are definitely needed, and they would be well worth it for the company to look into after seeing the great success of the games launch.

I don’t think I’ve seen any Xbox Live Arcade game receive downloadable content thus far. This would be the first game downloaded that you can get in game DLC for, unless I’m mistaken. It was all but confirmed by Cliff Bleszinksi earlier this week when questioned about possible DLC for the game. One possibility brought up was giving users the ability to play as the antagonist in the levels once beating the game with the original character. This would be a nice switch and almost double the time of gameplay that this simple side scroller has to offer. He never confirmed whether this would actually happen or if anything at all was going to happen, but he didn’t deny it and gave all indications that we’ll find out what’s in store rather soon.

Left 4 Dead DLC Screws 360 Gamers is a post from: Free Microsoft Points

Valve has announced that this September they will be releasing some downloadable content for their hit game Left 4 Dead. The DLC expansion is called Crash Course and it is essentially a new campaign for the game that will add hours of additional plotted out objectives in a story mode. I’m not sure about you, but for me, the campaign of any game isn’t exactly the part I enjoy playing.

Valve has a special deal that is either a good deal or a rip off depending upon your viewpoint. Those gamers who purchased a copy of this game for the PC are going to be able to download this expansion pack for free starting in September. If you’re an Xbox 360 gamer; however, you’ll need to purchase the expansion pack for 560 Microsoft Points which ends up amounting to about $7.00. This is a rather unorthodox way of treating console gamers and is sure to upset a few gamers along the way.

Crash Course is neither a sequel nor a prequel to the current campaign. Instead, in a time line it would be placed between ‘No Mercy’ and ‘Death Toll’. This new campaign is set to answer a few questions as well as include new locations, dialogue, and an explosive finale. If you’re a PC gamer, be sure and check this out as it’s basically a free update. If you’re an Xbox 360 gamer you should probably start sending your hate mail into Valve now as it doesn’t appear as though they will ever be giving it to you guys free.

Modern Warfare 2 Will Have Two Map Packs is a post from: Free Microsoft Points

Infinity Ward has recently announced that they will not be providing all sorts of downloadable content for Modern Warfare 2; however, there will be two map packs released throughout the year. Most likely, this will be the extent of it. While it is twice as many as the sole map pack for Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare, it is still short of the three that we have been fortunate to receive so far. Whether or not they will provide more than this is not set in stone, but at the current time they only plan to release two map packs.

Among the random announcements dealing with Modern Warfare 2’s map packs are the announcements that the downloadable content will be released on the Xbox 360 platform before the Wii, Playstation 3, and PC. The map packs are most likely going to cost the usual 800 Microsoft Points to purchase. I’d expect four multiplayer maps unless Nazi Zombies is going to be somehow implemented into Modern Warfare 2 and in that case we may see three multiplayer maps and a Zombie map in each map pack. I’m just looking forward to the actual game. Infinity Ward has always had some of the best first person shooter maps out there. I’m hoping for a few more classics in Modern Warfare 2.
