Today a shocking report was made by USA Today. Surprisingly, Halo 3: ODST has sold 2.5 million copies bringing in over $125 million since the game was released just two weeks ago. This miraculous outcome exceeds all expectations of this game.
Before the game came out, many people predicted that it would not do very well. However, predictions after it had come out showed that it would be a great success financially. Well, these predictions were right at it is obviously doing very well at earning money. This is especially shocking because it has only been out for two weeks so far. Considering how great this game has done, many other developers are going to start to see that taking risks can actually be good sometimes.
Halo 3: ODST has definitely become a certified hit. Even though it was a hit, Bungie will probably not be taking any risks like this for a while because it is quite a difficult thing to put out a game that you are not receiving good predictions about and you are almost certain that the game will be a failure. Bungie took the right risk on this one however.
