Not very often does the information about one of the biggest games of the year come though an energy drink promotion. However, this is exactly what is happening with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
As GameSpot recently reported, Activision, wanting to promote Infinity Ward's upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, has teamed up with Monster Energy. The promotion is beginning in this month of October. It involves people buying Modern Warfare 2 themed Monster Energy drinks. Then, there will be 100 free copies of the game given away and also 10,000 Xbox 360 dashboard themes. In addition, 5,000 vouchers will be floating around that are redeemable for a free download of the Modern Warfare 2 map pack. According to Activision, this map pack is going to be released in the spring of 2010.
It has been known all along that Infinity Ward would eventually be releasing map packs for Modern Warfare 2. However, this is the first actual proof of a time frame as to when they might arrive.
Do you think that this Monster Energy promotion is going to be a good thing for both Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Monster Energy?
