The simple, yet addicting Worms 2: Armageddon game in the Xbox Live Arcade is only a timed exclusive to the Xbox Live Arcade. Team17 has reported that the game is a timed exclusive to the Xbox Live Arcade, and they will eventually be making the game available to gamers on the PC, iPhone, Playstation Network, and Mac.
While I haven’t actually purchased this direct version of the Worms game, I do have one on my PSP as well as having played a game much like this on the internet during boring school classes. The game seems so simple, yet there is so much you need to master to actually win games consistently.
You are timed each turn to inflict as much damage as possible to your enemies with a variety of weapons that you have to use in different situations. Sometimes there are obstacles in your way that you need to shoot around, or even blow up. You take turns, and you cycle through yours worms in order. Once a worm has done its move, it’s sitting vulnerable where you placed it until it’s gone through all the other worms and is back to this particular worms turn.
It’s a very fun game, I’d suggest getting the iPhone version as it’s something simple you can take with you on the go and yet is so entertaining. Reports have said that the iPhone version is having some issues and is causing some problems on the iPhone 3G in terms of speed. Wait for the official okay before downloading the iPhones. Not sure how many Microsoft Points it costs. I’d guess 800.
