Beginning with Halo 2, the twisted and confusing story started up in the Halo games. To many people, Bungie was able to succeed in reigning the problems with the story in Halo 3: ODST. In this game, even if you did not know every thing there is to know about Halo, you were able to enjoy the story in Halo 3: ODST. Bungie has announced that there will also be a similar approach with the upcoming Halo: Reach.
“Reach will continue that, because it doesn’t have the burden of continuing a story like Halo 2 and Halo 3 had to carry,” said Marcus Lehto, the creative director of Edge. “It was a true burden for us when we were making those games, because we sometimes wanted to do something but couldn’t because the story wouldn’t let us, or we had to support this giant steamroller of a story. Reach allowed us to start afresh.”
The Halo games have always been complete with a bunch of interesting characters and story lines. Some people may believe that much of Halo is too confusing to follow with out research. There is no question whether or not Halo: Reach is going to have plenty of things to keep the hardcore fans happy. If Halo: Reach is able to help some of the less experienced players, then that would be good.
